Hampton Roads Orthopaedics Spine & Sports Medicine would like to give a shoutout to our amazing physician assistant, Jenna Crockett, because she joined our team this month nine years ago!
Jenna’s education and experience make her an incredible addition to our team. What truly sets her apart is her desire to listen to her patients and work closely with them to come up with the best solution to their unique medical needs.
Jenna says, “Making sure that patients feel heard is the most important thing I do. They deserve to know that someone is on their side throughout treatment.”
Education and Experience
Jenna majored in Neuroscience at the College of William & Mary. As an undergraduate, she began working as an emergency room scribe at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. She was inspired by the physician assistants she worked alongside in the hospital and decided to pursue this as a career.
She earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2012. She then worked as an emergency room PA for a year. The position taught her to handle a wide variety of cases in patients of all ages.
Her Switch To Orthopaedics
In February 2014, Jenna joined our team at HROSM. She has been working with Dr. Anthony Carter, MD, FAAOS, a specialist and pioneer in total knee and hip replacements. She cares for his patients in the clinic and assists him in the operating room.
Orthopaedics has been an excellent fit for Jenna because she loves to solve problems, which in her professional life is all about helping resolve often-debilitating knee and hip pain in her patients. In the office, Jenna works to pinpoint the causes of joint pain and is careful to educate patients on available surgical and non-surgical options.
Jenna believes, “When patients are involved in decision-making, they’re more comfortable and confident with whatever path we choose.”
We are lucky to have Jenna as a part of our HROSM team!
