For the past five years, I have had the privilege to work alongside Dr. Brendan McConnell as his Medical Assistant. Dr. McConnell’s practice is centered around treating patients who suffer from injuries and ailments related to the foot and ankle. Dr. McConnell is very thorough and takes a personalized, patient-centered approach with each patient. If you are a patient of Dr. McConnell’s, you know this full well and understand that he practices medicine the “old school way!!” He will take as much time as needed to get to know each patient and to develop the best treatment plan for each of them.
There are several aspects of my job with Dr. McConnell that I have grown to appreciate. Two of which stand out among the rest. First, Dr. McConnell loves to teach!! I get to learn something new and interesting every day from him. He is definitely a teacher at heart and I appreciate the extra time he takes to show/teach me and our team new things about the world of podiatry. Second, he is always a team player!! He supports my crazy, fun and sometimes outrageous ideas that I come up with for our podiatry team. A couple years ago, he dressed up as “McDisney” from the Mickey Mouse Club for Halloween and more recently, he wore a red nose for National Red Nose Day. Red Nose Day is a campaign focused on raising money to end child poverty.
