We are proud to announce a new addition to the Hampton Roads Orthopaedics Spine & Sports Medicine (HROSM) family—Marisa Mosier, DPM, AACFAS. Starting in June 2025, Dr. Mosier brings her exceptional expertise in podiatric care, surgical management and diabetic wound treatment to our growing team. With her arrival, HROSM strengthens our commitment to delivering the highest standard of specialized care to the Hampton Roads community.
A Skilled and Compassionate Foot and Ankle Specialist
Dr. Marisa Mosier is a board qualified podiatric surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle (RRA). She brings with her a well-rounded background in general podiatric care, surgical evaluation and treatment, and complex wound management. Her clinical interests include diabetic limb salvage and Charcot reconstruction, trauma and elective surgical procedures—areas where her skill and dedication can make life-changing differences for her patients.
In addition to her surgical expertise, Dr. Marisa Mosier focuses on diagnosing and managing lower extremity wounds, from sudden injuries to long-standing, complex cases. Her work focuses on healing and preserving the function of the foot and ankle, especially in patients at higher risk for complications due to diabetes or injury.
A Strong Educational Foundation and Local Roots
Dr. Marisa Mosier is a proud alumna of Virginia Tech, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise. She went on to receive her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
She completed her residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in the heart of Hampton Roads, where she distinguished herself as Chief Resident. This local experience means she already understands the unique needs of our patient population and shares in our mission of compassionate, community-based care.
Dr. Marisa Mosier’s commitment to excellence extends beyond patient care—she is also a dedicated educator and mentor. As part of the podiatric resident teaching faculty at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University (ODU), she has helped shape the next generation of podiatric professionals.
Professional Affiliations and Community Involvement
Dr. Marisa Mosier is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association (VPMA). Her active involvement in these organizations keeps her at the forefront of podiatric advancements and allows her to bring the most up-to-date care to our patients.
Her passion for growth and strong spirit of collaboration brings added strength and expertise to the HROSM team.
