John W. Aldridge, MD, FAAOS

Dr John W Aldridge is a Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon that has been specializing in minimally invasive muscle sparing spinal surgery and total joint replacement surgery in the Hampton Roads area since 2002.  He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland under a full academic scholarship.  He received his medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York, New York. Among the many honors he was awarded, he is most proud of being the recipient of the Rosamond Kane Cummins 1952 award for the medical student pursuing the field of orthopaedics who most displayed the compassionate qualities of the person that the award is named for.

He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency and served as Chief Resident during his final year at the perennial US News and World Report Top 10 Orthopaedic Hospital, The New York Orthopaedic Hospital, Columbia University a division of the New York Presbyterian Hospital. While there he was published in multiple orthopaedic journals and received the award given for orthopaedic excellence to graduating residents.

During his time in practice he continues to bring proven, new and cutting edge techniques for spinal surgery and total joint replacement of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow to the Hampton Roads Community.  He was the first on the Peninsula to perform the Axialiff spinal surgery and the Zimmer Gender Specific Total Knee replacement, both of which topics featured him in the Daily Press.  He has instructed other surgeons nationally for both hip and knee replacements and continues to do so for the Anterior Total Hip Replacement.  He is also the lead developer for the instruments used for the anterior total hip replacement technique for one of the major orthopaedic companies.  In addition to his many interests in the field of orthopaedics, he also serves as a Major in the US Army Reserves.

Adrian T. Baddar, MD

Dr. Adrian Baddar was the first fellowship trained hip and knee replacement specialist on the Peninsula.  He was one of the first in the area to offer hip resurfacing and custom-fit knee replacements.   He specializes in a variety of surgical techniques including anterior, posterior, and anterolateral approaches to the hip.  His practice includes complex joint revisions, sports medicine, arthroscopy, minimally invasive surgery, and general orthopaedics.  He regularly talks on pertinent orthopaedic issues in the community. 

Dr. Baddar is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery.  He completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic.  He attended the University of Virginia for both medical school and orthopaedic residency. 

He was born and raised in Virginia and has been living in the Hampton Roads area since 2004.  In addition to his practice with HROSM, Dr. Baddar provides our veterans with orthopaedic care at the Hampton Veterans Administration.  Dr. Baddar enjoys outdoor sports and is an avid runner.  He is married with two young children and currently resides in Newport News, Virginia.
