Sarah Bott returned to Hampton Roads Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in July 2013. Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 1993.  She then received her Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Alabama in 2000.

Sarah is licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a physician assistant and earned her National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants in October 2000.  She is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants.

Rachel Helmer joined Hampton Roads Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in August 2016.  She previously attended Black Hills State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2011.  She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School in May 2016.

Rachel is licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a physician assistant and earned her National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants in June 2016.   She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants.

Sean Hindman physician assistant Hampton Roads

Sean Hindman, P.A-C joined Hampton Roads Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in November of 2015. Sean is a graduate of James Madison University where he earned a Bachelor of Science double majoring in Psychology and Anthropology.

He received his Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School in May 2012.

Sean is licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a physician assistant and earned his National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants in July 2012. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery.

Shannon Andy physician assistant

Shannon Holloman joined Hampton Roads Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in January 2016.  She previously attended Averett University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. After graduating she became a certified Athletic Trainer, she currently maintains her NATA certification. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School in May 2014. Shannon started her career as a Physician Assistant in the field of Emergency Medicine, before return to her passion of Orthopaedics.

Shannon is licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a physician assistant and earned her National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants in June 2014. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants.

Julia Kidd Hough joined Hampton Roads Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 2016.  She attended Duquense University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training in 1997.  While working as a Certified Athletic Trainer graduate assistant, she earned a Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitative Sciences from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1999.  Julia returned to school to earn her Physician Assistant Bachelor of Science Degree from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2015.

Julia is licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a physician assistant and earned her National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants in December 2015.   Julia currently maintains her NATA certification as an Athletic Trainer.  She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the National Athletic Trainers Association.

Andrew Johansson, P.A-C joined Hampton Roads Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in June of 2016. He previously attended Old Dominion University (ODU) where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Kinesiology in 2006. After completing his undergraduate education, Andrew continued at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) where he earned his Masters of Physician Assistants in 2009. Andrew has been working in orthopaedics and sports medicine since graduating from EVMS. He will be working with Dr. Nelson Keller, Podiatrist, at HROSM Foot & Ankle Center.

Andrew is licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a physician assistant and is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Lauren Labra, P.A-C joined Hampton Roads Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in January of 2017 and practices with Dr. Swenson. Lauren is a graduate of Gannon University where she earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and a Master’s Degree of Physician Assistant Sciences.

Lauren is licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a Physician Assistant and earned her National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants in September of 2016. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Jenna joined Hampton Roads Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in February 2014.  She previously attended the College of William & Mary where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience.  She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School in May 2012.

Jenna is licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a physician assistant and earned her National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants in July 2012.

Melvin Palmer joined Hampton Roads Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in July 2012.  He previously attended Old Dominion University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School in May 2012.

Genevieve joined Hampton Roads Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in July 2013.  She previously attended the University of Virginia where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from George Washington University in August 2008.

Genevieve is licensed by the State of Virginia to practice as a physician assistant and earned her National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants in September 2008.
