experience while undergoing an MRI scan. Patients will no longer
experience the claustrophobic feeling of lying down in a narrow tunnel
on the cold and uncomfortable table of the traditional MRI.
In addition, the Stand-Up™ MRI allows patients to be scanned while
standing, sitting, in flexion and extension, as well as the traditional
recumbent position. All of this is done while the patient watches a 42”
flat-screen TV.Knowing the full extent of pathology and the differences in anatomy between upright and recumbent positions can be critical. Lie-down only MRIs cannot detect pathology that is visible only when the patient is scanned in an upright position. The advantage of stand up imaging is that it allows the physician a more exact diagnostic tool that enables them to identify the occult pathology behind the patient's condition that might have gone undiscovered by the conventional MRI.
